I'm going to try to update this as much as I can.

So I've finally left my old phone I got just before all the android phones came out and got the Galaxy S3, as of right now I can only give first impressions of the phone.

So far I'm loven it but this is coming from someone that's never had a android phone before but in any case, I like it, a lot of settings I can tweak, a lot of features I know I'll be learning about for days, every think so far that I've tried runs smooth.

The only cons that I've noticed is it does feel cheap, feels cheap anyways heh, anyways its super light, I mean its lighter then my last phone that's less then half its size, oh and the S voice or what ever its called is a joke but I hear that in jelly bean os that's getting a huge update anyways, there is only a couple other minor cons and that's the bottom of the phone does get rather warm rather quick ones it starts to get used, I mean with in 5 minutes, that and heh well I wish the phone came in black, I ended up getting the dark blue one and plan to get a black case that'll cover most of the blue but no real cons that've made me regret getting the phone at all so far.

Other thoughts...
The S voice or what ever its called, it works some what but its super slow, I mean I asked it what time it was and it took a good 5 to 10 minutes trying to get the answer, I ended up just closing it, also I've seen how well this phone does when its dropped in videos and heh, I'm not taking it outside of my bed room until I can get a nice case for it.
Oh before I got the phone I read a lot of reviews that said the home button felt loose or cheap, well, they must of gotten a bad phone, cause in my case, it does not feel cheap, its not loose. Also when I said the phone felt cheap its mainly because its sooooo light weight, I mean its light even for a smaller phone, the buttons them self's don't feel cheap like other reviews say they do, they either got a bad phone or is nit picking at what they can.

I'll try to post a week later review, then a month, so on and so forth.

Small con - The phone was inspired by nature but it does not mean it should only have nature stuff to choose from when it comes to ringtones and wallpaper, just saying, I usually make my own ringtones anyways but I didn't like any of the starting wallpapers or ringtones.

Small Con - The ear buds you get are white no matter what color of the phone you get but the box it comes in matches the color of the phone, just a small con I thought I'd point out.

Con - Speaker volume, music, The built in speaker is great for calls and games maybe but for music its horrible, maxing out the volume settings the music still sounds quiet and often hard to hear and for what ever reason the phone hates the Music Bullet speaker I used with my old phone, it sound like the volume is too high when its not, it crackles and really just sound horrible, even though the Music Bullet speaker was fine with my old phone at the same volume so I'm not sure what to make of it but I can't listen to music with the Galaxy S3 with out headphones or ear bods.

So far this is the largest con I've found with the phone.

The second would probably be actually its weight, I mean it does not feel like its sitting in my hand, that if I don't keep a mild to firm grip on the phone its just gonna fly right out of my hand, hard to explain but maybe its just me, I like a little weight to my phones, lets me know I'm holding onto something heh.

I've listed quite a few cons and I'll probably list more as I go but keep in mind these are little things that I thought I might say something about..

Really I'm loven this phone, its nearly perfect, I was worried about my big hands having a hard time with texting on a touch screen but so far I've only hit the wrong key a few times and it feels like something that'll take just a little getting use to, other then that this phone is doing every thing I want it to, doubt I'll be upgrading from it any time soon, plus I rather wait until many large new features come out in phones then just by the next model of what ever phone just for a OS or a single feature that ALOT of people like, like Siri for the Iphone 4s, even for another core in the cpu, when I upgrade and spend the $200 or so for the upgrade I wanna feel and see the $200 + worth in upgrade, I mean I roll my eyes at those that upgrade from the Iphone 4 to the Iphone s4, That's like spending 200 to 500 on a single firework that lasts a day, anyways, I'll end that tiny rant.

Anyways, back on subject, I've only have had the phone for 3 days now but so far I'm enjoying it and even now I know I'm not using it to its fullest potential, that's currently what I'm attempting to fix.

New Con - Roaming -
The phone constantly goes in and out of roaming while its at my home, thankfully my plan includes unlimited roaming so I don't have to worry about any added fees but for those that don't have unlimited roaming, I thought I'd say something here, for me its only annoying some what, getting "Data Roaming, you have lost data connectivity"

Even though I've gotten that message like every day, it has yet to effect any aspects of the phone, though I guess that could be because I do have it connected to my homes wifi, may not be able to do some things if I didn't but meh, I'm not worried about it.

I love my Sammy Galaxy II.

Haven't felt the urge to move up to a SG3. I find them (and the Galaxy Nexus) a little too big for my tastes.

Volume con update,
turns out, the reason the phone didn't like the music bullet, was because there was a setting I needed to set because there was only one speaker, needed to set it to mono, after that, the speaker sounded great and now works for what I need, though if you wanna listen to music, you'll still want to use headphones or earbuds, the built in speaker is still VERY quiet, though, there is software out there I found that fix this issue, at the risk of blowing out the crappy built in speaker.

but so far I haven't found another con to list.

I guess I'll star listing Pros

Pro - design, the feel and shape of the phone, feels great in my hand, despite its large size, the phone still fits nicely in my hands, I don't ever think I'm gonna drop it because I can't get a grip due to its size, I don't have an issue getting my fingers from one end of the phone, to the other, buttons are also easy to get to too.

pro - All around great, I could go on and on about pros but really it'd be easier to just say, its a great phone, I've gotten no lag, no choppyness, nothing as crashed, calls come in clear, I've yet to get a drop call with it, I mean I haven't had it for too long but for the time that I've had it, this phone will last me for a long time, I doubt I'll get the Galaxy S4 but I'll be sure to nab the Galaxy S5 when it comes out.

Update: Nothing really new to report, other then the phone is still running as smooth as it was when it came out of the box, haven't really learn anything new,

Though I did get a micro usb to female usb for 4 bucks at newegg that works great with the phone, allows me to use a extra mouse and keyboard i had laying around, comes in handy for some games and well I'm just that use to a keyboard and mouse I thought why not for 4 bucks,

I also finally got a case for the phone or at least its own its way, I got the defender Otterbox case for the phone, which to some might be a little overkill and I might of agreed until I seen a drop test, it was a little extreme but still the phone does not look like it'd take much to shatter the screen, plus I've seen a video of what it takes to replace the screen and well, its not pretty and its not as simple as remove/replace screws or some tape here and there, takes a lot more then that and even when done right the phone may not look right and or be more vulnerable dust getting under the screen after the screen has been replaced.

I'll try to take some pictures when I have the phone in the new case.

I'm running the Galaxy Nexus (Samsung built Google branded phone) which also is just too quiet in volume. I added the PAID version of Volume+ (still fairly cheap at under $2 US) and this doubled my music volume, as well as allowed stronger ringtones. Very very good fix, with lots of fine tuning options.

However, it is limited on stock ROMs (or stock Android on the Nexus lineup) and works best on aftermarket ROMs like Cyanogen Mod. I prefer to stick with raw Android, so I can not use the full volume boosting features, but what I get is sufficient.

Also, Volume+ is not 100% compatible with Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.1), and works best with Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich. This is expected to be fixed in the developer's next couple patches, and as the Galaxy Nexus was first in line for JB I am REALLY WANTING MY PATCH!

My fix came from Equalizer, I think there is a free and paid version, I use the free version and it seem to of done the job, raise the volume with out any bad effects, still volume is probably this phones worst con, I think, I guess I'm still undecided on what exactly is but volume, its up there, I guess for me weight is more of a con for me, I mean I feel like the phone is so light that I could forget its in my hand heh.

I guess I could throw is a some what of a update or added info on my um review?

Apps I think are a must have / or might be worth wild looking at

Equalizer, As mentioned above this program was free and helped fixed the issue with the low volume, it only allows you to set one prefix or what ever you wanna call it but you really only need one, the settings I have on the app are 60Hz +8, 230Hz +2, 910Hz +15, 3kHz +6, 14kHz 0 and that seems to do the job.

Flashlight, though there are many out there named flashlight, this was is simply called that I don't know how to send you to the actual creator so you don't get mixed up but buy that led on the back of the phone is super bright, I mean its brighter then most actual household flash lights, I will say, its screen flashlight is not that great but that could be just the screen it self, again this app is free, so far all apps I use are free, I doubt I'll find an app worth paying for any time soon.

Pandora, doubt I have to explain this app but its a free music streaming program that streams music to your phone and uses the first song or artist you up in, to guess what other songs you might like and you can tell it if its right or wrong by thumbing up or down, the pc version often has ads or asks if your still listening but the phone version seems to rarely give ads and never asks if I'm still listening, though pandora some times gives me a bad streak of songs some times, most of the time it gets the right ones, your able to start many playlists or stations as it calls it, I have had issues in the past where all of a sudden I could be listening to dubstep then all of a sudden pandor plays nothing but reggae music, was like wtf? I thought it might of just been a one time thing, I'd thumbs down the song and I'd get back to dubstep but lol nope, had to delete that station and remake it, which that seemed to fix that but I had to rethumbs up all the songs I liked, not a big issue but something I thought I'd point out.

Games
Kingdoms & Lords, free to play of course, a fun simple game were, your a lord, you have a kingdom, you build homes for your villages, your army, your farms, taxing your villagers by clicking their homes, plan plants for a price to sell them at a higher price of course, build troops in a sort of old school FF kind of combat thing, its a simple game you don't have to pay a whole lot of attention to, I like it.

Pocket Frogs, Free to play . . . Another rather, well very simple game, heh, my mother got me hooked on this game, its pretty much a pet game, you collect frogs, you tame them, breed them, feed them, sell them to get better frogs, more room for more frogs, pretty simple game, something you can work on while your sit in a waiting room or waiting for something to render on your computer in my case, not much more to say, check it out.

Zedge, this was actually recommended by Rodney, its a nice free/lazy way to get free ringtones, wallpaper, apps and games, though the selection isn't too great, there is a lot to choose from and takes the effort out of making your own ringtones, wallpaper, good for someone that doesn't know how to or just wants to be lazy in my case.

Still waiting on my new case for my phone, still in the mail but it is in the state next door, so it should be here tuesday or wednesday, I wonder if the case comes with a free lint free cloth, might pick one up at a store anyways today, right now the phone has no protection, I don't have a screen protection thing on it and don't plan to put one on it, cause I prefer the glass feel, plus the screen is gorilla glass, which is pretty scratch resistant if not very, plus I've heard its the best you can have right now but that's just what I've heard, I don't go through phones often enough to know otherwise, hell I'm pretty sure I'll have this phone for more then two years and I mean actually use heh.

I wonder what's the best way to clean a phone apart from using a lint free cloth.

Anyways, that's just about all I can think of to add to this review of the Samsung Galaxy S3, for now anyways.

Interestingly, Apple now says even the Galaxy S3, which was designed to be not-iPhone-like, is like an iPhone. Well, I guess an iPhone with a much bigger screen, a faster processor, more OS memory... you should get yourself an Apple sticker to pop onto it, because you seem to have the best iPhone ever!

Seriously, Apple, stop it! You've been stealing stuff for ever! It's the name of the game in tech!

Hahahaha!!

Hear hear! I'm with you on that, to be honest, that's one of the main reasons I got the Galaxy S3 a big F$%K YOU Apple, and I'd sooner bang my head into a wall then slap an freaken apple sticker on anything I own or even touch said sticker in the first place I have so much rage for apple! Haha.

No one likes someone acting like their all high and mighty, apple needs to get over itself, its choking grip over the phone market is over and done with, their just another company that makes phone now(A phone), their not special like they'd like to think so,

I better stop now before I start with computers and this thread becomes a rant/PCvsMac Thread haha.

Oh and I guess I'll throw an update in here, Shipping . . . My case for my phone has literally been sitting in my city for three days now and I've yet to get it in the mail, the tracking has said three different things but I was suppose to get my case 3 days ago, if I don't get it today, I'mah gonna start calling some peeps.

Finally got my case the other day and was too tired to take some pictures and post them, so today, I got off my lazy ass and took some pictures, first of all, sorry for the lighting, I'm no pro or even regular reviewer of anything, in fact this is probably my first real attempt at reviewing anything that's not from newegg, which I still need to do a review of the case on there haha anyways, here are the pictures I took, then my first thoughts of the case.

I completely forgot to take pictures of the phone before I put it in the case, It'd be too much of a pain to take the phone out of the case now so, sorry, no pictures of the phone out of the case but here is what I think about the case.

I like it, first of all, it adds heft to the phone and its texture gives much better grip to the phone, its not suppose to be a pretty case or meant to make your phone look spiffy, its one goal is to protect the phone and I feel like it'll do just that, I'm not brave enough to do any test drops but I feel like it'll extend the life of the phone in one way or another, a lot of reviewers say that it makes it harder to push the side buttons but I think that's a good thing, makes it harder to accidently push one of them, so I think its a good thing that it takes a little more pressure to press these buttons, it doesn't make it hard to press them either.

Though the case does have some down sides, the plugs that cover the ports don't pop into the case easily, my last phone has something to the same thing that covered the charge port and it popped right back in with hardly if any effort, the dust flaps or what ever their called, you kind of have to work them in, that could be a good thing or bad, who knows but the worse thing the case has going for it, is the built in shield, for one it does not press up against the phone, there is a little bit of space between the plastic shield and the phone, though it doesn't seem to effect the touch screen in any way, well as in tapping stuff and what one but the biggest issue is again the shield but it also reduce the sharpness of the screen and adds a slight grainy ness to it, though I've seen a few of the reviewers of the case just remove the shield, which I an considering to do myself so, Oh and it makes it slightly hard to hit the home key but hardly a con, final vote on the case, I give it a 4 out of 5.
