Why do you need intake fans in a computer case? Exhaust fans are sucking the warm air through the front out of the case anyway.
(In some cases there are even more intake than exhaust fans)
you need fans to pull in cold air. and if there are no intake fans you will get a lower pressure inside the case. there will come a lot of dust in the case because of this lower pressure. it wil also make the case very dusty at the small openings where a lot of air needs to pas trough. so keep the pressure positive so the dust blows itself out. so your case wil get les dusty and the intake fans make the airflow better.
In addition to the above comment intake fans are useful to direct cool air near components that need it rather than just delocalised airflow from exhaust fans.
Your question really comes down to a different question... "What is better, positive air flow or negative air flow in a case?" With that question, the debate goes back and forth with heavy hitters on both sides. The debate narrows when you start incorporating your own case and hardware specs. For some positive air flow is a much better choice, negative may be better for others.
Thank you for pulling out a two jear old Q&A video just for me ;)
100% kickass site!
BTW I have been watching your video reviews for 5 years now (but didn't register...) and I´ve NEVER seen another reviewer than you since yesterday (fractial design R3 case). I have to say that all other reviews are horrible!
This answerd my question perfectly and keep your reviews coming! :)
