I heard in some video reviews that SSDs were faster than some hard drives, are they fast then the 3gbs and 6gbs VelociRaptor hard drives>
some of them yes, SSDs have much faster burst speeds and can find and read data much faster than a traditional harddrive.
in a harddrive you have a needle waving around with a data read/write head that has to find a certain track and a certain sector, read it, and swing over to the next where an SSD is instantanious because it has no moving parts
What happens when you combine a SSD with other hard drives in a raid 0 setup?
IF it would work ( if ) using a two disk raid0 config it would only go as fast as twice the speed of the slowest drive.
but like it said its an IF, having two disks that arent the same can cause some problems
