I hope my GTX 295 doesn't get Blown Away by any new offerings.  That would be a bummer.

Even when the 480 is released, your card will most certainly still be relevant. If you can play the games you like @ the resolution you want, it's fine. I'm waiting for more money, and product releases to biuld my new rig. 890 FX mobo and Thuban.

Would that card bottleneck my Q6700 and my 4GB DDR2 RAM? My 9800gtx isn't performing as well as it used to almost 2 years ago..

Possibly. Have you kept your drivers up to date? Have you cleaned the card? I take my gpu apart once or twice a year, clean all the dust out, and reapply the TIM.

I have seen some early reviews on the GTX 470 and 480 and for the most part the benchmarks seem to be around or less then the HD 5970.
