What is/was the best budget gaming video card of the year 2011 in your opinion? And maybe a little info into why.
This video is nearly a year old, but I think it still answers your question.
I already saw that one but I thought I could get a new up to date answer.
Depends what you're coming up from and if you're just looking for the best budget card with good performance or best budget card to upgrade to with the best performance.
If you're just looking for your first solid gaming graphics card, the AMD 6850 is a good place to start. At around 120-150 it will play all the latest games with no issues up to about 1920x1080, on some of the more intensive games you'll naturally have to turn some settings down but should run majority on high or maxed.
If you're looking for a good upgrade, then Rodney's video is still pretty true. The GTX 560ti, GTX 560 ti core 448 or AMD 6950 2GB's are cards that you're going to be looking at for around 220-275 dollar range. These cards will play majority of games maxed out at 1920x1080 and a bit higher resolutions.
If you're looking to run 2 cards in SLI/Crossfire and want some big performance. Track down 2 AMD 6870 2GB cards, there's alot of performance to be had with those for roughly 400 for the lot (200 each).
There hasn't really been many new cards since his video, which is why it was recommended by the above user. January 9th AMD will be releasing their newest high end card, the 7970 which will retail for 475 USD. The lower end models will be releasing later Q1 or early Q2.
Yea, for the budget category, this still holds true.
OK. Thanks. I appreciate the reply
