whenever i run the app vreveal and i apply all the tunings on a video and i play it i get the weirdest noise ver its almost as if its like a ticking noise and it stops immediate when i pause the video. I am thinking its my zotac gtx 460 1gb or my hdd? or it could be some psu issue( btw i am alrdy suppose to be getting a replacement psu in a few days because of some noise issues, so just keep that in mind) any guesses
id say its you're sound that's the issue maybe changing the psu will fix it some people get like buzzing sound from static build up
PSUs don't tick, they whine/squeel.
Is the noise coming out of the speakers? If so, it could be a bug in the program vreveal, or it's an integrated soundcard that is not grounded properly. Is the PC connected to a grounded outlet?
If it's not coming form the speakers, I'd check if it's coming from the harddrive. A ticking/clicking harddrive is a warning that it's going to die soon and needs to be replaced.
Video card is highly unlikely, unless you're using the HDMI output and the noise is coming from the TV speakers.
how can i ground an integrated sound card? and i am very sure its not coming from the speakers. And i ahve also realised that the noise is actually a squaling which still makes me think its the psu =/. and my psu is connect to a power brick
Sorry that wasn't very clear, no you can't ground a soundcard since it's grounded through the motherboard. My question should have been if the PSU is connected to a grounded outlet. Or the power brick in this case.
If it's not a distinct clicking then my hopes are on the PSU, let us know if your replacement PSU fixes it!
