I live in an apartment building and setting up a wireless signal for my parents to use. But the signal gets very weak because of the iron or led in the walls. I have a Netgear WNR2000 and its said to share signal up to 1000 feet and parents are barely 30feet away from my Studio. What is the best receiver and or signal extension for Wireless? Thank you
I like the D-Link products best but it might be a good idea to stick with the same brand extender, in your case Netgear. Another option would be to just forget about the mishaps of wireless all together and go with a wired powerline setup.
Even with better gear you'd still have the problem of the walls blocking most of the signal. Better use a cable for that, and if you still want wireless on the other side attach a wireless access point to it there.
I live in a different apartment not far from my parents, Can't take a cable from one apartment to another.
Oh ,well in that case, proper placement might help. Place it in front of a window or a door or something. I don't really believe in signal extenders if you don't do something about the real cause.
