My friend has an old Dell Optiplex GX620 with only 512mb of RAM in it. I was wondering if this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148236) will work in it. I don't wanna just rush in and throw 2gb of RAM on a motherboard that can't handle it cause he can't afford a new one. Thank you for any responses.

According to the specs of the machine, it will work. The board will require DDR2 PC2-5300 SDRAM.

Yes, agreed, PC2-5300 or faster DDR2 will work, up to 2Gb DIMMS. Larger modules (4Gb) may be seen and addressed as 2Gb or not seen altogether depending on the BIOS version.
