hey there everyone, got a question for you all. i'm building a pretty intense gaming rig and am debating which motherboard to put in this thing. im going to be using a intel core i7 920 for the cpu and will be running crossfire on the vid-cards. i want to be able to do some overclocking with this and plan to water cool the cpu. obviously im looking at an x58 board, however which brand and model is the issue. i dont want to spend over $300 on a board and dont need a classified or xtreme board, but i want something with some juice. currently im looking @:

- GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD5 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
- EVGA E758-A1 3-Way SLI (x16/x16/x8) LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

any suggestions on which one or a better board? thanks

If I were you I'd get the Gigabyte board for a couple of reasons. First of all, it comes with USB 3.0 and 6GB/s SATA connectors, where the EVGA does not. Also, if you were to put 3 video cards in the Gigabyte board, you'd still have 2 PCI-Express 1x slots open, so that you could put in a sound card and another PCI-e 1x card like a tv tuner or something without having to worry about video cards blocking slots. If you put 3 cards in the EVGA though, all your other PCI expansion slots on that board would be covered up (assuming you put in a double profile card).

im with Vortex88.
you might wanna look at some ASUS boards aswell, and if looking at ASUS, check out the P6X58D Premuim. it comes with USB3 and SATA6.0 and is one of the best mobos out there.
