Hey guys, sorry if this post is bad.. its my first :)

Anyways iv been offered some new hardware for a really good deal, and im extremely tempted to buy them.

It consists of:

MSI p45 Platinum motherboard
Pentium Dual Core E5200 overclocked at 4GHz
Kingston Hyper-X 4GB DDR2 1066MHz Ram
Coolermaster GX 750 PSU
Nvidia GTX 460 Gigabyte version.
Coolermaster cm 690 II basic

My current rig: (Bedroom Heater! :P)

Pentium 4 520j @ 4.1 GHz
8600GT
Corsair value ram 2GB 667MHz @ 960MHz 5-5-5-18
Antec Earthwatts 430w
Asus p5kpl-cm
Coolermaster Hyper 212 cooler

I was thinking of keeping the cooler as it manages to keep my current P4 at a nice 35 degrees idle and 49 load :)

What's the price? I wouldn't give more than 350 USD for it.

mobo: 60
CPU: 30
RAM: 40
PSU: 30 (used PSUs are always a gamble)
GPU: 120
Case: 60

Not sure what your budget is but I would invest in USB3 MOBO that also supports DDR3.

Keep that in mind.

The CPU is old. I would get a newer motherboard which supports newer processors and RAM if I am you. But if you have a tight budget then you need to think carefully about it. Btw, is these second-hand products? You said the processor is overclocked, so its lifespan is shortened. You should negotiate with the seller to get a cheaper price for this setup.

Processor is not that old, and being overclocked doesnt always shorten life span, only when extremely over volted would shorten the life span. Cheaper price? how much cheaper are you expecting me to get it for??? im lucky to get it at this price as it is never mind any cheaper. and the seller is actually one of my brothers so i know where its from and how it is treated, its coming from a good place so it'll be fine :)

It's a great value (which I think some people are misunderstanding). Go for it! You will then have a much better baseline from which to upgrade. Good luck!

I am not saying the processor is old. I mean the model of that processor is quite old. If you think that you are happy with what you are going to buy, go for it. I'm not trying to hold you back there, I'm just giving advices. And I am also helping you to lower the prices so you can buy it at a cheaper price. I hope you understand. Btw, could you tell me your budget?
