It has been a few years since I built my pc and I think it might be due for an upgrade. You can see the specs of my PC in my signature.

This is what I am considering purchase for my PC.

ASUS P6X58D-E X58 ATX LGA1366 3PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFire SLI USB3.0 SATA 6GB/S Motherboard
$250.80

Intel Core i7 930 Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.8GHZ 8MB L3 Cache 130W 45NM Retail Box
$299.99

Corsair XMS3 TR3X6G1600C9 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 9-9-9-24 Core i7 Memory Kit
$161.07

Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H50 High Performance CPU Cooler System LGA775 LGA1366 LGA1156 AM2 AM3
$63.22

TOTAL $775.08 CAD

I also just purchased a Kingston 64GB SSD that should arrive within the week that will have Windows 7 as well as some other programs that I use quite frequently installed on it.

Suggestions?

If you'll be using this for primarily gaming, I suggest pouring the majority of your money into the video card(s).

Well, I do enjoy gaming but so far the GTX 260 core 216 has taken everything I have thrown at it. but I really can't convince myself to invest in a new GPU while I still have a dual core, ddr2 system. I may upgrade the GPU in the future but I feel that the weakest part of my pc is the CPU so that is what I am looking to upgrade, aswell as the parts that go along with it.

You can get those parts for a bit cheaper on www.newegg.com, except for the h50, which is a bit more expensive there
