I am going to buy new some new components and i wondered if it's best to go for two 5970's or three 5870's. What has the best performance?

3 cards dont scale too well so i would go with the 2 5970s but thats a major price tag and a lot of power that you might not even use, even 3 monitors on 2560x1600 only truly needs one 5870 or 5970

I would go for one 5970 and an i7-980X Processor Extreme Edition 3.33 GHz, OC to 3.80GHz.. This will beat almost anything!

I have 3 monitors and i'm going to buy 3 more monitors.

They are 24" 1920x1080 each.

I think you will get better bang for the buck as far as scaling preformance goes on the two 5970s.

then in that case, a pair of 5870 eyefinity 6 models in CF will be perfect, all monitors can plug into one card and you get the extra power boost from the other 5870
