can you use a usb headset with a sound card?

no, a USB sound card is already integrated in your headset.

Some USB headsets like many of the Steelseies headsets have a detachable sound card that allow you to use either USB or analog which you can then plug into a sound card.

i don't know, but the 3.5mm is a headset port (the headphones will work but not the mic except if plug in a headset capable device ex: Android phone) the sound card on PC generally have 1 headphone jack and one mic jack also i don't know if your headphone will continue to work without 5v supply from the USB plug...
