Heyy ! I watched a 3dGameMan video on youtube, its about the diference between intel i7 processors. In this video, rodney said that if you have fast memory and you want to overclock your processor you should lower the multiplier and bring the front side bus up, on the other hand , if you have slow memory you should do it the other way around.
My question is: would ddr3 1333Mhz be considered as fast memory?
Thanks a lot!
1600 is fast and 1333 is slow
So are you saying that the best way for me to overclock is to lower the front side bus and bring up the multiplier?
I'm not sure that 1333Mhz would be considered as slow. Maybe 1066Mhz could. I have a laptop with 4Gbs of 800Mhz memory and it runs modern warfare 2 ok and some other games. Are you sure of what you "said"?
I think what he means compared to 1600, 1333 is slow.
If you don't want to overclock your memory just increase the multiplier or increase both the multiplier and FSB but decrease the memory multiplier (divider). 1333MHz is plenty fast; it's "the maximum" speed supported by current processors (they can handle high clocks though).
ATX, thanks for the good answer I was looking for ;)
Now I have DDR 1 RAM it runs at 400,now that is slow
lol :o thats the same as my moms desktop :L
