Hello!
I have little out-of-date computer and was planning on buying new components, but nevertheless I could use your help
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P memory QVL
Ram - Kingston, 1333MHz, CL9, KVR1333D3N9/2G x4
Cpu: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
I have read the board memory QVL and could only find kingston that are available in my country, but would like to use 4 GB G.SKILL Ripjaws series, F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH but they are not on the list. Want them cause they will look good in my HAF 932.
Could go with ASUS motherboard also, but I've seen that better ones just have too much for me (like 4x PCIe x16 slots) and since I have plans of putting only one graphic card I chose gigabyte.
What are your thoughts?
P.S. There are none EVGA motherboards available for purchase in my country

Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
Jared you just made my day, thanks!
In the process I learned to look on memory pages for supported motherboards as well :)
Now my configuration will be like this:
CoolerMaster HAF 932
Corsair TX 750W
Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
AMD Phenom II x4 965BE 3,4 GHz
RAM PC-10666, 4 Gb (2x2 Gb), G.SKILL Ripjaws series x2 (total 8 Gb)
ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 Mb gddr5
WD Caviar 200 Gb
WD Caviar Black 750 Gb
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
What do you think of this complete setup?
I don't play games as much as I used to, but when I save some cash will upgrade graphic card also.
so don't get this one in the first place! get the HD5850 and then you won't have to worry about the GPU for the next couple of years, and then in 2-3 years you can just pop in another one for CF!
if you don't have the money for the HD5850 then get the HD5770, its a great card, and its way more future proof (supports DX11, 1GB GDDR5 and more and more...)
You misunderstood me, I already have that graphics card (see my current setup in my signature) and plan to upgrade it later on, after getting all of newer components. Nevertheless thanks for the info about newer cards I'll keep them in mind :)
I would downgrade to win7 pro since ultimate offers few advtanages over pro worth $100+get an SSD instead of the WD 200

Check out the list and see of Ultimate has anything you want over Home Premium.
Hmmm yeah win 7 pro looks like a good solution, has all the things I would need as a regular user.
So I guess you guys like the rest of the setup since didn't mention anything besides operating system?
4870 512 Mb gddr5 is a good card, but the 1GB version is better for today's games that use the extra cache. Even still that was last years card, probably need to look at the 5000's now.
Yeah I'll look into 5000 series when I get some cash after buying new components.
Thanks again people you have been very helpful! Cheers!
If you are going to overclock I suggest you use only memory from the approved list of the motheboard manufacturer. Processor is good and again overclocking..... get a good air or water cooler. You can get a coolermaster v8 around $50 and I have seen them keep i7 920s @4ghz cool. Upgrade that video card if you are going to be gaming too. Don't be afraid to buy an nVidia if you find a good deal.
