Ok guys, long time no see. I couldn't find the member rigs thread, so I decided to make one for myself.

Been busy with hardware lately, had HD 5870 CF for a while but didn't think it was worth the extra price. Was hoping to go for 480 sli, but that turned out to be too noisy/powerhungry solution for me.

Been looking at watercooling, but just can't seem to justifice the price of 300€ for highend setup.

HD 5870 really isn't *enough* for me but there is nothing interesting out in this gen so I have long wait ahead before the next cycle. That means I can focus making this build as finished I can to be ready.

Some of you know my old setup, I went a bit extreme after selling them and getting a job 6 months ago heh,

This is how it was a while:

and this is how it is now (got tired of the cathodes):

Thinking about slapping a Scythe Kaze server fan controller and 12cm kama bay fan into the front. Not too sure if it would be worth the hassle to sleeve the cables... what else to do.

Thoughts? :)

BTW this new forum is extremely narrow.... so pretty much cannot do hotlinking to pictures unless they are ridiculously small.

The build is looking really good; and as for sleeving the cables, I wouldn't even think about it. I mean, it would add a nice touch to it, but I personally think that they are already sleeved enough and that the colored wires add a touch to the look.

I also have to agree with you on that cathode light; it is way too bright and doesn't have a nice even tone as some more expensive cathodes or LED's do.

I think that it looks good, and is nice and clean. The cable management is very good, other than the extra PCI-e connectors, which you can't do much of anything about anyhow.

Looks great, and I can't see much else to add, although a fan controller would probably be nice, just a bit more cable management for you (;

Dark-this is the second double post you have had today but I don't blame you considering state of forum...

Cg-Where you been man? all of us have been suffering with this forum while you building that awesome thing....

No way does it need sleeving but you can do w.e you want

Amd 6000 series is actually on the horizon I hear so hopefully not too long of a wait..

Water cooling other than Ch50 is rarely worth it unless you got a load of money burning a hole in your pocket...

Yes a fan controller with all those Kaze's might be a good idea-especially if you value your ears....

Overall this build is definitely shaping up to be one heck of an awesome rig!

Have fun building it!

undeadkingpr,

Accidents happen, and I can't delete the previous post.

I posted once, and it posted twice.

I can barely post as-is, let alone double-post.

O right so this is what happened after my last post. Cooling updated, got the fan controller.

Would like to have a lot quieter gfx card but that is a work in progress.

Btw these forums desperately need back the old sticky structure, like the rigs thread. I don't feel very interested in the current layout.

No more work so probably around more from now on... :)
