Well I'm currently helping my friend with a new rig and I just want some opinions from you guys on what you think about the parts we are planning to buy :)

Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair V Formula

CPU: AMD FX-6100 6-Core Processor

GPU: 2x XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 "Dual Fan"

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 16GB CL9

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB

PSU: XFX ProSeries XXX Edition 850W

Case: CM Storm Trooper Gaming Big Tower

CPU Cooler: CoolIT VANTAGE A.L.C.

Network card: TP-LINK TL-WN951N 11n Wireless Adapter

Software: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Looks fantastic. If you could go for an SSD I guarantee they would basically be in heaven with everything else you mentioned! Even just by running the OS along with select apps and games on it. They're coming down in price and you don't need much for what I just mentioned.

You would ideally want to calculate how much you'd require for OS/etc and then aim for having 20% free on it at all times. OCZ drives are fantastic. I've been using them for years without any problems and their forums are amazingly helpful.

Even without an SSD (for now? :D) that's a beastly config mate.

Well the plan is to buy an SSD in the future when my friend has saved up some more money :)
