New motherboard to replace amd 770 ?

I'm thinking about upgrading to replace my amd770 these are my main current specs 

AMD Quad Core Phenom II X4 965
2 x 2GB 240Pin DDR2 800Mhz

Nvidia GTX 260

500gb sata hardrive

and i need it to fit inside an antec 902 with my coolmaster v8

if you wanna go higher than a 770 then you might go with an 800 series board. 885G or 890FX, you might have to move on to DDR3 though, im not sure that the upper 800s boards are DDR2 boards

Do you think i would need a new board ? because it may be old or something?

well you said you wanted to upgrade, its your choice. its not an update you need but it will definately help and may show an improvement in speed in a lot of areas

the 770 is perfectly fine. Id wait until AMD releases its next gen cpus (probably next year)  and then u can grab some of those boards.

yep. Upgrading now would be kinda pointless. Wait for tri-channel AM4 MB's.
