Hey guys, long time no post. I have been having trouble with my 22" LG monitor that I bought years ago. Once a day, I have to unplug it an plug it back in in order to display an image. The rest of the computer turns on fine and is useable but the monitor screen is black. Also, it has been making some low humming noises in idle mode. I think this issue is just that the monitor is old. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Heh, that's what I thought. Lucky for me LCD prices have dropped quite a bit.

Yeah, you can get a good monitor alot cheaper these days. I'd try some other brands than LG. I have an Asus monitor that I love, but Dell makes some good ones as well. :)

Yup, I was looking at some nice Asus and Dell LED monitors. I don't really need anything bigger than 22" but maybe I could up it to 24", if space permits.

Hey guys, the monitor is getting worse and worse so I am going to order a new one today. I have limited my selection down to Samsung 23" LED monitors but can't decide which one would be best for my needs:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007617%2050001077%20600060968%20600030617&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=REVIEWS&PageSize=20

The monitor will be in a well lit room and will be used primarily for web surfing, typing and gaming. I don't really have a budget but would like to keep it near 250. Thanks for any advice.

For the EPEAT gold, money off and free shipping the Samsung PX2370 is gonna be better value for money. This would definetly be the one to go for.

That PX2370 is a great monitor, excellent performance when it comes to gaming and movies, and very high brightness level too compared to other brands. I've always wanted that monitor but was unable to get it.
