I'm building a new rig and I'm in need of a chassis. My current selected chassis is the Corsair Obsidian 800D case. After viewing Rodney's review on the case, I take faith in his review seeing all the reviews on cases he has done. Airflow seems poor on the case, not to mention I'll be using a Corsair H50 in the case for the CPU. Since that uses up the back exhaust [the only one on the case] I would be forced to use the top 3 120mm ports for fans. I don't have a problem doing that at all.
So my question is. Would putting 3 120mm fans there 'solve' the airflow issue and perhaps putting a 120mm in the HDD bay in the bottom front?
If not, what's a fantastic case that meets the following?
-Hot swap trays [At least 3]
-Side window [Must be flush or on the inside of the case with no rivets]
-Bottom mounted PSU
-Non gaudy looking design. [Clean and simple, similar to the 800D or TJ-10B]
-USB 3.0 ready
-Can make sandwhich
What about the HAF X?
That is my definition of gaudy. Intense geometry with no simple sides. Doesn't have hot swap trays either.
I realize I'm very picky and there probably isn't a case to fit all of my needs. I realize the airflow on the HAF X is very fluid and has fairly decent cooling for the GPUs and overall airflow is grand as well. If nothing else comes my way, I'll probably switch to it.
Settled on getting the Cooler Master ATCS 840
FYI: The HAF X has hot swappable bays..
Bleh, yeah. The two bottom ones. Was thinking of another case I was looking at.
Can't wait that long. Need computer for class in 2 weeks. Do you have a link on any current news about it?

Ah, and something very nice from Lian-Li is comming in October. Recommend you guys keep updated with them.
This is a perfect case for Rodney; all aluminum, removable motherboard tray, good airflow, full tower, etc. !!
There aren't that much info about the case yet. We'll have to wait a bit for a while.
Cooler Master ASTC
Lian Li PC-V351
I like the design on the ATCS more than the HAF-X, IMO.
Sorry. Also forgot to include the Lian Li PC A71F
^^^That case looks even neater. So if you got enough cash, go for it.
Hmm. The case and mobo are standard return. So should I get that and if air flow doesn't work, return it for the Lian Li PC A71F?
the antec dark fleet df-85 meets all those requirements it has heaps of fans for good air flow, 4 hard drives are hot swappable and has a large window on the left side of the case and it is flush against the side
here is rodney's review on it http://www.3dgameman.com/reviews/1161/antec-dark-fleet-df-85-case
The window is not flush. At least the rivets aren't. I've already decided on the Lian-Li PC-A71F. Not to mention, the DF-85 is God awful ugly to my standards. It may have a piss load of fans though so does the HAF-X and as stated, it's a disgusting case as well. Lian Li matches my IKEA furniture too, which is pure simple win. I just wish there was more information on the new case they're releasing or that it was at least coming out earlier.
