Laptop VGA to HDCP?

I have an older Lenovo Laptop that I was thinking of making into an online TV tuner (Hulu etc...) as we want to ditch Cable. It only has a VGA output though. Is there a VGA to HDCP adapter that will allow Me to use it or is it a lost cause for that idea?

I'm assuming you are looking for HDMI? HDCP refers to the copy-protection schematic carried over the digital interface.

Yes, there are adapters to modify an analog RGB (VGA) signal to a digital output. Sadly, they are expensive active components, the cheaper ones tend to get lots of pixel shifting, and a lot of modern TVs just don't like them.
