Gosh its been long since I posted here lolz

 

anyway.. here is whats up.

I have 2x  old PCs

Dell and compaq presario 

in dell there is Intel psu and in compaq presario is AMD

so.. I was wondering  can I take intel CPU and put it in my compaq presario PC? lolz

nope

motherboards only take intel or amd -not both

I'm gonna need a little more information UNLESS I take the time to research the contents of said computers. Everything should be upgradable, the only question is "Is it worth it?"

You can yes if you change the motherboard, otherwise no sorry. You either have an Intel motherboard or AMD board, You cannot swap chips

It's funny that you have 870+ posts even though you ask about swapping CPUs and not the motherboard. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.

HTPC: AMD Athlon X2 4050e CPU with 780G ATX motherboard running Windows 8 DP (4GB) and Ubuntu; Server: AMD AII X2 240e CPU with 880G-based ATX motherboard running Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS (8GB)

2 pairs of Insignia NS-B2111s (front/rear), Pioneer SP-C21 Center Speaker, and 12" Velodyne Sub

Just ordered HP Pavilion dv7-6165us from QVC. Will have it by next Friday.

That is exactly what I thought. Either the post is a joke or someone is posting under his name. I remember him to get quite involved in many threads, so I'm pretty surprised myself.
