Pretty pointless post, im not asking anything except your opinions.
I live in denmark wich might explain why the GPU market is going crazy over here.
GTX 480 costs 4200 DKK wich is about 840$
OC'd Sapphire HD 5970 same price! believe it or not the OC edition is the cheapest LOL!
HD 5850 about 2000 DKK or 400$
HD 5870 about 2800 DKK or 560$
strange thing number 2
HD 5830 1900 DKK wich is about 380$
So yea if im considering a HD 5830 i might give that 20$ more to upgrade, and nvidia pricing is pointless at the moment. Who would consider a card for a whopping 840$ when you could double the perfomance for just a couple of coins more?
nvidia lower pricings so ati will lower theirs! im dying to get a HD 5850!!
How is the US market? is it also just as weird?!
Lol I feel for foreighners-
Yes the US market is a bit weird but not that weird..
5970-~600
480-~500
5870~400
470-350
5850-275
5830-230
Most of the pricing makes sense but if Nvidia cut the cost of the 480 to around 450 and the 470 to 320 it would be extremely competitive in terms of price/performance. Unfortunately though until new games employ dx11+16xAA ati will have the lead.
those prices seem fair, first couple of days the HD 5830 was more expensive than the 5850. prices here are really weird. electronics generally cost more. an i7 920 is about 400$ i saw yours is about 280. damn i wanna live in the US, seems so cheap.
i7 930 brand new with cooler+3 year double warranty from microcenter for $200-does that hurt?
Microcenter has the 920 i7 for $169 US. If you can find it in stock anywhere.
Ya they are phasing out the 920 for the 930-930 is 200 while 920 is 170 but my local store already sold all the 920's so w.e- the 930 Oc's .22 ghz higher+runs a bit cooler so I would get that
