I want to build a file server and was thinking about buying one of those 'barebone systems.' Is this a good idea? I'm planning on putting a few hard drives in there and connecting it via ethernet or possibly wireless. If it is a decent idea, what is a good barebones system I should look at? From what i understand when it comes to file servers, the CPU doesnt have to be too powerful, but ram should be at least a gig? any ideas/suggestions are welcome. thanks.
