i should go with a creative sound card, they have more knowlegde with soundcard's and stuff, i do got 1 myself and its great!

the creative Audigy se is a great choice for the money and supports 7.1 channel's.

Im just a gamer who likes to build computers...

The Asus cards are just fine, in truth, and perform very well, way above the more basic stuff out there. However, despite driver issues that have been floating around, Creative Labs tends to be the group that establishes the standard.

The Audigy SE is old tech, but very stable. I still have one floating around in my video editing machine.

Creative since they have a long history of sound cards, but that doesn't mean other companies sound cards are no good. For example I still have a Azen X-Fi Forte 7.1.
