I was pretty sure I was going to get Gigabyte's G1.Sniper then I found out that for the money, the features are not worth it.

Anyway,

Which motherboard would you recommend for a high-end gaming rig? I was thinking Rampage III Black Edition but I thought I'd check it over with you lot first, you seem to know a bit about computers! Also, which sockets would you call obselete now?

If you want to save some money the ASUS P6X58D-E is good as well

If you're looking for a high-end board... you too close to AM3+ to make the investment worth it. My 2cents is to wait and get the next 'future-proofed' chipset. You be glad you did. I've been waiting for this upgrade to get off of AM2+ :D
