Well i just finished, i wish i had a before picture because the word awful does not even begin to describe it. The 4 pin for the mother board was too short so instead of getting an 6-in extension or solder more cable (Like i had to) he pulled the cable real hard and mounted power supply with 2 of 4 screws and left it sideways. The case had ONLY ONE f----n FAN in this Version 1.0 Antec P183, and get this, it was 99% seized!!! Because of that, the 8600GTS was toasted! I put in a spare ATi 3870 (upgraded thermaltake cooler) in it which is a better card anyway!
1.) The chipset is overheating a bit, its because AMD did not make the stock cooler vent in all four directions so im looking for an upgrade that would blow lots of air over the stock chipset cooler cooler (Thermal taped another small chipset heat sink after i took the picture)
2.) I am looking to upgrade the old AM2 Athlon X2 4400+, its starting to really show its age and gets bogged down by a ton of games and programs. Its a decent Biostar TA770 A2+ SE Ver. 6.x board. Im thinking the AMD Phenom 925
3.) If possible, I am looking for a good and cheap(30$ ish?) usb controlled, Fan controller. nothing too fancy, just needs to last! :p
I'm not exactly happy with the way the cables look in the case but the older P183 does not have the best cable management! :p
P.s. To anyone who had or has an Antec P183, how in the heck do you keep the dust out of these things?!? i tried the dryer sheet trick but it still gets dirty so quickly!
Any help would be awesome!
bump* any ideas?
