i heard good things about sounds card. any one know a good one for 60 and under for listening to dance/electric music? i have a 2.1 set up
Have a look at the Creative Sound Blaster line of products. You can find a really good one for 30 to 40 bucks.
the Creative Labs Audigy SE 7.1 soundcard is pretty good for the price, 33euro's here just a bit more in dollars i guess, tested it against onboard sound and this, pretty a huge difference, i do got the Creative Labs Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro, just great for gaming but the audigy is also great!
edit: this card is 7.1, but can be handy if you want to get a 5.1 system
i'll gues they arent selling soundcard's with 2.1 channels... (on this price)
I agree, Creative has some excellent and affordable sound cards.

In all honesty, on a not-surround system (2.1 is not, 5.1 or 7.1 is surround) even a fairly basic card running a RealTek sound chip will provide all of the quality you need for decent music listening.
Getting into better cards will offer better equalizers, channel mapping for surround, and other features for room-filling experiences, but they will need more than a 2.1 system to really show you what they can do, unless you are running some very very nice speakers.
