Yeah so i super impulsivly preordered homefront (a game i wanted) on onlive and got my free copy of metro33 and am looking foward to getting the console. the performance was ok on my computer but that is cause my internet was bogged down by my family streaming videos.
but i am really nervous that i did this, because now i realized if this company goes under i will have lost another 50 bucks like i did with APB. what do you guys think the future of onlive looks like? do you have any experience with?. lets talk.
It looks like a decent service for people who don't have adequate hardware for running games at the prettiest settings but it's a bandwidth killer for sure.
yeah i have had some more time to test it out and as a hardcore gamer i can definitley feel the latency but for sp or story based games i find it perfectly acceptable. as for the bandwidth i have a 15 mb connection but my internet speed monitor says i only use up to 800kbps with onlive yet for some reason if any other apps are using bandwith it struggles. i personally hope that this succeeds so we can get pc gaming back as a priority. i think they should include an option to regularly install the games or partner up with valve or something, because there is no way that i am going to buy 2 copies of these games but at the same time sometimes d rather have it onlive and other times on my pc
so they came out with an update the other day and the quality was improved but the main thing was that they added voice and i have to say that it is the best quality voice i have ever heard through the internet i was really impressed
looks good
