what is everybody thinkin about this game...
ive been watching vids from the 360 demo and it looks pretty sick.

but it makes me nervous cause i wanna be able to get same performance as my friends ps3s so i can show them up, but i dont know if the game is gonna be x6 compatible and my 4870 isnt gonna cut it, but if i upgrade to a 6970 maybe and im hopin on getting another 4gb of ram so hopefully that rig will kick their asses

YAY

I have a beta version that does diagnostic testing of it's performance on my PC. So far it's very smooth an average of 50-60fps on my i7 920, 12gb DDR3, GTX 460, 3x HDD Raid 0 config. You can't tweak the settings, only gamer, advance, Hardcore. I'm playing on hardcore. It is only playing Direct x9 in the Beta, so 10 and 11 must be a HUGE difference.

The gameplay has been simplified since the first one, use of certain things will be combined. Cloak and armor replace the tilt action with Q E. Also holding down melee or jump will activate Strength automatically. I'm not yet sure if they toned it down for console use, but being a New Yorker and seeing the gameplay it really is beautiful. But no, most of the scenes you play are not real streets. Multi-player seems a lot more promising than warhead that's for sure.

When people lose sight, they pray for better vision. Even though the path of ignorance was their choice, they believe it to be an outer entity like karma or bad luck - in thus believing an outer cause will cure it. You want change? Stop throwing dirt in your eyes to attain mercy for looking weak.

Yea, I'm not playing around with this beta either. I just don't want to spoil the full experience.

BTW: The beta I hear is only DX9, so really worth waiting for the final PC release with DX11 functionality.

Why would they even beta DX9? At this point DX11 should be their focus for Crysis..

I believe at this point they just focus on the point of if there are any issues with low specs and how it respond to consumer brand market. That and comparison to console gaming because I'm sure an X-box is not even close to direct-x 10 graphics. So far I play on my Alienware M11x R2 on gamer and it runs a smooth 34 fps. So I think people will appreciate they can probably play with their old 8800 gt cards.

Also the beta only good to see how if it runs on your old computer. Honestly its not that fun to play with glitches and crashes from time to time. So don't bother

Crytek themselves did not publish the leaked build onto the Internet...some guy did. The reason it only runs at DX9 was probably because the leaked build is not the finalized version that will be released on March 22, despite the leak containing the full game.

It is really sad that someone would leak the beta, specially when the beta was the FULL game, with a few bugs (nothing major) including master DRM something.

From what I read that the game won't be in DX11 until EA patches it in. So when release date comes the game won't be in DX11 or DX10. They said that they will patch it to DX11 but it isn't high on their priority list. Although the game will be amazing though. The game was probably made in DX9 because it had to be ported for consoles. So yah it will be fun none the less.

What does this have to do with computers, hardware or games? I wish I was a mod and could remove this spamming. No offence, but this site of yours has nothing to do with the topic or forum at all.

I don't get why it's still not in DX11, even in final version. However, as nick19268 mentioned, Crytek will release a patch that will include DX11 soon. Plus, there's too many annoying unranked servers that I don't get points for. Also, especially on Steam, why do I have to type down the serial number? I can't even copy and paste. Better yet, why can't Steam just activate it automatically like most other games do? The final version did changed the graphics setting, but it's still three graphical choice: High, Very High, and Extreme, which is kind of weird. Last thing, I don't get why Crytek removed prone, it was there in Crysis 1.

I am sad that Crysis 2 is actually a really bad game, its unfinished, no dx11 no dx10 , no high resolution textures, no environmental destruction, no good PhysX , multiplayer is bugged as hell, pirates and hackers everywhere even in retail servers , buggiest AI , huge motion blur whihc u cant really see anything , no maximum strength, no maximum speed , no human face this is so bad.......... i hate how i have to spend 10 dollars over normal PC games too... its normally 50 bucks and now i have to pay 60 bucks for an unfinished crappy game which no one can play

As I said, I wouldn't buy the game unless it had DX 11, well I just bought the game when the patch was released and I have to say. I barely see the difference, which I guess is good. The game is quite beautiful even without the DX 11 and extra features. A little disappointed, but I think it will be updated and rendered correctly. The 3D is excellent and the multiplayer is intense, I am satisfied. But I do miss the benchmarkness and openness of the first Crysis.
