Youtube is a free service for both viewers and posters. However, people placing high-view videos can be offered the opportunity for ad detailing on their channel and on their videos and can be paid BY Youtube for view of these ads.

Most YouTube content can be viewed for free but now YouTube is offering a rental streaming service for movies which you will be charged a small fee to view for a restricted duration of time.

Forgot about that. Yes, Youtube is trying to take on Netflix. I don't think we'll see much success here unless the Google crew starts working on Youtube movie software for the gazillion devices out there that currently push Netflix streams.
