I was bored one day so I decided to take some pictures of a rose with my mom's new Sony DSC-T20. Her old DSC-T5 was stolen at work so my stepdad got her a new T20.

First picture is out of focus because I took it with the "ultra close" macro feature from like 1" away. Second was taken with regular macro at about 1-2' away.

I tried to get the light from outside make the rose look sorta transparent but it made the focus even worse :(

Still it looks nice robo :thumb

I recommend you take that rose outside, and try and get some more "Natural" shots like grass, trees or other flowers in the back ground. :)

Post us a pic here when you've done it ;)

What camera and zoom did you use?

I tried taking a picture of the moon before but all I got was this tiny little dot :(

No zoom. Pentax K10D plus a Sigma 400mm f/5.6 APO lens plus a Tamron 2x teleconverter. 1200mm total.

egarrard this lets call it "Photo taking" hobby is wayy to expensive and addictive ;) you always want to go that 1 step further and buy a bigger lens or a better one than what you already have :lmao

I thought I would treat my self and get the Canon EF-S 70-300mm but now I wanna go even thurther Hmm.. Canon L series 600mm lens with a Canon 2x teleconverter: (How much mm will that be egarrard?) well the price is £5950 :KICKASS

600 x 2 = 1200mm. Times the sensor crop on a Canon would be 1920mm in 35mm terms.

As to the hobby being "way too expensive and addictive", the Pentax forums have a term for it. It is called LBA (Lens Buying Addiction). No matter what lens(s) you have, you always want another one. (I myself just picked up a 135mm macro lens for $20 off eBay.) Even the Director of Marketing for Pentax US, Ned Bunnell, isn't immune from it. He even has a change jar for all his LBA wants. :Wink
