this might be a weird idea but PC owns in FPS games because of the mouse.
but you can only run in 8 directions whit a keyboard at 2speeds. after that yo will have to tab the key.

solution use or just pressure sensitive keys on a keyboard use an analogue stick for running integrated in the keyboard

-the analoge stick will be on the keyboard and would be surrounded by buttons to trow a specialnade ,go to crouch, go to laying on he ground. running etc. it would also make it easier to drive and fly whit a keyboard. you could even integrate a button ontop of the stick for rockets (flying games) or make it like a little joistick.
A CHEAP PHOTOSHOPED FOTO FOR EXAMPLE (ps controller stick and my keybourd)the shape and layout would be 100 times better than in this picture.

(i do not know how to upload it on the forum)

pressure sensitive keys would be very handy to run slower or faster. you could also use it like if you press the button completely you would sprint. if would make a keyboard more handy to drive and than there would be no need for the tabbing buttons.

PLZ ADD IDEAS , SOME KIND OF RATING OR AN OPINION.

The analog stick Idea sounds a bit weird to me, but the sensitive keys sounds like a pretty good Idea.

It sounds like you want a more console like interface. PS3/XBox360-like controllers are already available that will give you that second analog stick for movement, but game compatibility is limited. There are control apps that will let you sort of customize it for general use, but for games that aren't compatible the analog stick just turns into a hard 8-axis stick and offers nothing beyond the keyboard.

the thing it i prefure to use the mouse for selecting, aiming , going through the menu etc. but i prefer an anologe stick for driving and walking because you have a better control for detections than 4 normal buttons.
that's why pressure sensitive buttons or an analogue stick would be superb. and i prefer a keyboard for typing and for games where movement doesn't matter that much like rpg games.

it is broken when flying and driving. even is some rpg games it is hard to play. especially in a gmae like gta and saint rows were the character walks if you turn the camera. than the aswd keys don't work well.
