So I have recently seen the videos Rodster (What I called him when I was trolling in one of his live giveaways :P) has posted on YouTube about him making his website the primary source for his videos.
Guess what? I support it %100.
The YouTube drone race needs to stop opening their mouths and expected to be fed. The video world does not revolve around YouTube. Sure it makes it a little more convenient. But then again, the website is better organized and it makes it easier to see what videos you want to watch, what polls you want to take part in, ect. Also, IT'S THE INTERNET! IT'S ALREADY EASY. JUST TYPE THE URL AND BAM! YOU CAN SEE HIS VIDS. If you are too lazy to do that, you probably live in your moms basement.....and will continue to do so :/
Don't forget that Rodster does this for money and he has a family to support. What does he care more about?
Well the "harsh" reality of the situation is that Rodster cares a lot more about himself and his family, than snotty YouTubers who can't understand what a business move is and support it.
I have enjoyed watching many of Rodsters vids. If you have too, drop by the site. Watch the vids. Drop a comment too.
I say it's a well developed site that offers different things.
Get off your knees... YouTube is not your master!
Remember that YouTube is still the video source for 3dGameMan. In reality, for high bandwidth items like AV media, it is the best and most flexible way to do it FOR FREE without losing site usability.
The change is that videos will not be listed on the 3dGameMan YouTube channel for a couple of weeks. So you have to come here, to the source site, to see new stuff. Why? BECAUSE IT IS A BUSINESS! This should be obvious. 3dGameMan survives based largely on ad-based revenue, and if you skip the site and just look at YouTube, well, you don't see any of that.
According to Rod, there is ZERO desire to leave YouTube as an AV host. He's just changing how you will look up the videos, and bringing everyone back home.
Thanks Darqside for the support, I appreciate it.
Actually, both of you are right. YouTube is both a blessing and a curse ;)
I'm running my own show... short of, I can never keep to a schedule... on YouTube. There is no website (yet) so everything is listed.
But, if the show gains any popularity, sure as heck I'll be taking similar measures.
The show, btw, is not review based as it's core. It is family based, but does cross into PC and console gaming as I game, my wife games, and we now have gaming kids.
