Zombie time?

Seriously, we still have a lot of fairly long-time members checking in. Maybe it's time for a membership drive? Blackmail your friends!

It could be the overhaul of the website and Google+/YouTube integration that would make this forum obsolute., although I could be wrong.

I wouldn't say integration, but rather that there are a lot more viewers who never actually end up at the site, just the video placements on the Google sites.

Other forums are still thriving, but do much less in video, and more in print articles. I'm wondering if we should do more parts reviews in the Member Reviews section. I have a new rig I built in Feburary that will be getting a LOT of individual parts reviews here, but sadly nothing in my rig is really new new, even the FX-9590 that saw a lot of reviews net-wide at it's launch, and while still the top-ranked AMD CPU option in horsepower, not a new idea to draw people in.

Why not entice YouTube visitors with some in-print articles? Multi-part reviews?

I remember Zack (err-- z33k3r, if I remember that username correctly) posting a review of products in print/article. It's been a long time since I've been to 3DGameMan.com website. :)

And by the way, Rod, how do I get to my membership account so that I can add some dashes above my signature to distinguish my posts from sigs? Thanks.

Plus, don't you want to consolidate some menus like Contact and Support, T-Shirts and Shop, and what about News and PRs? Maybe why not do away with News? Unlike the old version of 3DGameMan, I hardly checked to see what's in news when it comes to technology. When I go to your home page before the overhaul of your website, I scrolled down to check out news and did not bother to click in the news link. Well, now that I have mentioned it, I've started to take a look at it and I prefer the list format like I've been used to before. Perhaps it would have been nice to allow per-member customization of your website. Hmm... That might entice your YouTube viewers to come to your website. If I am signed on, I could have news in the home page like I've been used to.

But then, I don't know if there are ways to entice old-time members to come back to your website. I do remember some old members that I'm not going to mention here. Heh heh. :)

Yea, could do that, but I'm maxed out with the Video Reviews, and now the new One Takes series. Add kids, house, hobbies and all that on top of things = no time :( Zach is in a similar boat, overloaded with work.

"Blackmail your friends" - Taking notes.. yes that might work. (straps bombs to self)

Does anyone else miss VBulletin? I kind of do, not so much with the spammers and hackers, but people loved it. I miss the smilies!, the forum now lacks in character, all grey and simplistic, meh.

I think part of the reason is that the YouTube channel hasn't been growing as steadily as the other top tech channels have been in recent years. Perhaps it's because Rodney hasn't been reviewing as many enthusiast-oriented products as of late? I know that those kinds of reviews are a big draw in terms of enticing more active viewers.

I'm with you on that. Vbulletin is much more fun. I really haven't posted here much since the site was changed, it seems pretty cold and uninviting now.

******* Edit --- no separation from quoted stuff an my own input. Yuck! *****

Yes, indeed I do. I really don't like to spend a lot of time in this forum environment. It is too sterile with no personality or attitude at all.

Looks like things around here have slowed down quite a bit, I was going to come here to ask about the latest and greatest cpu coolers for a new build I'm looking at (current pc is about 3 years old now) but that part of the forum seems pretty barren.
