site is still acting slowish for me. navigating through the site is decent speed, about 2-5 seconds switching pages, still a long time but i can live with that.
what bugs me is that when i first log onto the site it takes anywhere from 45 seconds to never to open the home page

I agree, site is still way to slow. Before I which to another host I want to be 100% sure that it's the host and not our site software.

It went down a while back today.. not sure when. Frustrating... Zach had to restart the server. Sooner or later he will figure out the problem.

Oddly enough, I found some more culprits... but they were with RR.com... sit and wait again :tired:

Trying to load the forums gave me a few timeless white screens then started working after a few more tries once I backed out for a bit.

Yea... the site being down is becoming a major issue and it has to be resolved.

So is the problem software or hardware? I know I've heard they say it's not hardware. But how can anyone really know that for sure?

We do have a CPU and HDD bottle neck, but it's not fully the culprit here. Some day, well move to a nicer server, but for now, this one is the one we have. I have setup some monitoring scripts to pin point the, if any, scripts that are killing the services. Now that I am sitting here watching everything it doesn't want to WSOD... go figure...

Every time I visit, I keep hoping response times, and crshes are becoming less of an issue. I'm sticking with Rod and everyone else here.

WHO DAT!

A Cajun who died went to hell.

The devil assigned him the usual punishment...put him in the mass pit where the heat was melting others. The devil came back sometime later surprised to find the Cajun just sitting around, not even misting, much less sweating.

"How come you're not so much as sweating here where everyone else is screaming for relief from the heat?"

The Cajun laughed and said, "Man, I was raised in the bayous of Sout Looziana.. Dis ain't nothin' but May in Lafayette to me!"

The devil decided to really put the Cajun through it. He put him in a sealed off cave in the pit with open blazes and four extra furnaces blasting. When he came back, days later, the Cajun was sitting pretty, had barely begun to bead up with sweat. The devil was outraged.. "How is this possible!? You should be melted to a shrieking puddle in these conditions!."

The Cajun laughed even harder than before. "Hey, man! I done tole you. Iwas raised in Sout Looziana. You tink dis is heat?! Dis ain't nothin' but August in Jennings!"

So the devil thought, 'Alright, a little reverse ought to do the trick.' He put the Cajun into a corner of hell where no heat ever reached. It was freezing and to add to theCajun's misery, he added massive icebergs and blasting frozen air. When he returned, the Cajun was shivering, ice hung from every part of him but he was grinning like it was Christmas.

Exasperated, the devil asked "HOW!? How is it possible?! You're impervious to heat and here you sit in conditions you can't be used to...freezing cold and yet you're happier than if you were in heaven.. WHY?!"

The Cajun kept grinning and said, "Dis mean de Saints done won da Super Bowl!"

Just wondering how far away are we from a PM system?

Or getting our old post counts back, it seems some users have, some haven't.

EDIT:

On really annoying thing is having to go back to the main forum page instead of just going back to the forum you were in. Maybe I'm missing something because I'd think that would already be there.
