@ WE-DeusEz*2001:
you have to go to www.3dgameman.com/user to change your signature and avatar

saaweeeeeeeeet
that worked :)
thanks!!!
So-far this is the only website and forum that I have to triple-click the backwards button at the top left corner of IE8 to go back one page.
Does anyone else have this problem too?
It also doesn't matter if I use a different computer or if I'm logged in or out, the glitch is still there.
@lasermouse : Triple click? Wonder if it's an ad that's doing it... I have come across something like that at another tech site recently. I haven't experienced it on this site though. Which url is this happening at? ...and does it happen on any other pages like a review page?
I have no problems using Firefox.
Zeek, can't comment on the effects of the ads as adblock kills all of them. :)
Yes, same here, both FF 3.5, 3.6, IE8, IE8 in compatibility mode... neither show issue with double/triple back click for me...
Updates: if you haven't cleared your cache yet, there's a new theme ;) There will also be a wide variant available soon for those wanting to make full use of their 16:9 screens :D
...also contributing members and those that were invited to sign up for beta; be looking for an email Monday night or early Tuesday morning about new features that only you will be helping test this week.
I'm having a look at IP Board now, I also liked the interface of it, but I'm not sure of the features, as I hardly use it; eg: on a forum site that I never went on as it is my casual site :P
Another thing, has anyone had an experience with IP Board before?
The new theme looks great! i really like it.
WHY are only a selected few members able to beta test the site? I was one of the original members. I signed up 6+ years ago. I think everyone should be able to sign up...
This is really really new.... I'm trying to see if i can view some of the old topics back in the forums but cant seem to find them, not even the search option is helping. Were some of the content removed, and if not where and how can we find them quickly ? But in all honesty Ive been waiting so long for the forums to be up again that now that its up I don't even feel that thrilled to be here anymore. Unless if someone gives me a run down of the changes and help me to change my mind. I for one would really like to see the Kickass Gaming topic around so I can run some post.
I think it's good that the forums are back online again.
It is a bit slow, but that's how it is in the beginning.
You guys aren't really patient and want everything at once. You should leave the admins the time to fix the problems and help make the forums better instead of just complaining.
There is just one thing I haven't understood yet : How do I sign out ?
I've been online for 2 days, because I couldn't find the sign out button anymore. Can someone please tell where it is ?
Thanks
Might have to clear your cache files. It does list you as offline. For now I don't think there are any links to most of the controls.
@Sahand Kashani : There is a Login/Logout menu item at the end of the top navigation. This will be replaced with a fancy user menu at the very top very soon including links to your threads, user prefs, messaging, etc...
Can we not have such a thick bar at the top? It takes up so much space. Something more streamlined maybe? Also, scrolling is now very slow in FF. Quick in Chrome.
Do we need a "Top" button with every post? Seems a bit excessive.
I like the design for the most part. The new logo is a huge improvement from the older one. But will it stay monochromatic? No glowing blue triangle in the center to accent the blue theme of the background?
Not to criticize, much, zeek but what in god name made you think this design looks good? It burns my eyes. It's all black with a bright strip of blues. What about all of the old farts that visit? The theme looks nice, it really does... if Rodney were 13. Also, the header looks great but why does it scroll with the page? There can't possibly be anything on there that's so important I can't simply hit Page Up to find. It simply wastes 102px of my monitor real estate. I spent good money on my pair of 24s, and plan to get 27 or 30s, and I intend to use every last pixel of them. Imagine if someone is on a NetBook or a 16:9 monitor. They can't even see a single darn thing!
Also, why such random thumbnails for the Q&A videos? They don't really show anything useful other than rodney exists. I'm really not going to even start with the rest of the design.
Zach, you really surprise me sometimes.

P.S. Alexa dropped another 1k to 98k.
@Robo : We always welcome constructive criticism. Just remember that sometimes, some choices are not mine... also, Q&A Video thumb nails are not random, they are the last 10 videos. I will be cleaning that up with some titles etc... patience young jedi.
@Everybody : If you have suggestions or comments about the new theme, please feel free to give us valid ideas and concerns. We want to make it as comfortable as possible :)
Also, we have not optimized for older or less used browsers at this point as many things are sure to change, so please don't leave a comment saying that this new theme doesn't work in IE5.5 or Netscape Navigator 4... hehe ;)
The theme is not working on Chrome for me. The top bar does not extend both ways like it does in FF.
I dont know Robo, i kind or like the new theme. i think the top task bar is great. its a little wide but thats because the search bar and the 3dgameman logo is there, i guess it COULD be shrunk a little bit but overall i like it.
Now...Just optimize for widescreen :D
@DeuxEx : wide screen option coming a little down the check list ;)
Im Rodneys age and i think the new design looks great. Sure there is more tweeking and designing that needs to be done. They have been making better progress over this past week then they have in previous weeks combined. Keep up the good work guys! I look forward to seeing everything finished.
Some major changes for sure and we hope most of you like them. Hopefully by next week we will be close to a totally finished site. So this should make A LOT of people smile. I know I starting to smile a little more already :)
I have a long list of items that we will hopefully resolve tonight. After that we will tweak it a little more until it's near perfect.
Thanks again for all your patience over the last many months of waiting.
If I ever win the lottery I will hire Rodney a team of experts and the best servers known to man. Might even make a site option for watching the videos in 3D. Oh well, until then we are all just hard working folk doing what we can.
The site is getting faster don't you think? From 7 seconds down to 5 seconds.
@Jared/everybody : The whole site taking 5 secs? or just the forums? The site is using a learning cache, so it should get faster the more it's used. Right now, everything for me is very snappy, except the forums which take a few seconds between pages with multiple thread references...
Loading time for the site, and pages within, as well as forums, and pages within range from 4 to 25 seconds for me.
@robo : send me a tracert report from your location if you could... would be interesting to see the routing responses.
After the problem we had before today with port 80 it seems to be even faster. Most of it all ranges from 2 ~ 4 seconds for me.
i love the new theme, im a big fan of black, fits my NASA launch site skin for FF and zune skin for windows just fine.
just wish the 3dgm logo at the top wouldnt stay there when i scrolled, it looks good but i want to be able to see past it. and i see a possibility to shrink it vertically, just scoot down the 3dgameman logo and you can cut about 30px right off the top
i have a tracert...
how do i send it to you zach?
